Do you look after or support someone who could not manage without you?
If you provide unpaid support to a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems, you are a Carer. Please let the surgery know so we can register you as a Carer. We can help ensure you have the right access to support and let you know of other services available to you.
Caring for a relative or friend is a wonderful and rewarding thing to do but can also be a lonely and isolating experience. If you have noticed that you are feeling more stressed or less happy than usual and need some extra support please get in touch with the surgery on 01435 873000 and book a routine GP appointment to discuss your needs. We are committed to helping you maintain your own health as well as helping you care.
Did you know that as an unpaid Carer you are entitled to a free NHS flu jab to protect yourself and those you care for? There are other benefits you can access that carers agencies can help you with including information on a discount card you can register for, a budget you may qualify for to cover your caring responsibilities for you to attend your own medical appointments, and other benefits you may not be aware of.
The practice offers advice and support to Carers – please ask for our care co-ordinator who can provide further information on local help and support services available to you.
