Self-referral options
Posted or Updated on 11 Dec 2023
It's been a busy winter for the NHS and the surgery, with an unusually large number of respiratory infections putting more strain than usual on appointments. The Doctors and Nurses at the surgery would like to see anyone who is concerned distressed or disabled by their symptoms, but sometimes appointments are booked for patients who have a good idea of what their symptoms are, and some of these patients would benefit from a self-referral to physiotherapy, psychological therapy or lifestyle support without needing to see a Clinician first. So make a note of the self-referral options below and feel free to share them with friends or family in Sussex who you think might benefit.
Self-referral for NHS Physiotherapy (suitable for most musculoskeletal conditions). Refer yourself online: sussexmskpartnershipeast.co.uk/gethelp/ or by telephone: 0300 300 0003.
Self-referral for mental health support including talking therapies (suitable for depression, anxiety and panic symptoms). Refer yourself online: www.healthinmind.org.uk/referral or discuss on the phone 0300 003 0130.
Self-referral for lifestyle support (eg for assistance with stopping smoking or help with losing weight). Refer yourself online: oneyoueastsussex.org.uk or by telephone: 01323 404 600
